Rachel Hanna's complete reading order. Rachel has published more than 54 books across 9 series since 2012, all written at the Just Kisses heat level (clean, no explicit content). Most series should be read in order, since family relationships and storylines build across books. Whiskey Ridge can be read in any order. Standalones can be read any time. The list below is organized by series, in publication order, with the recommended starting book first.

South Carolina Sunsets series (read in order)  

Set in the fictional Lowcountry beach town of Seagrove, South Carolina. Follows Julie, a 43-year-old woman starting over after her marriage falls apart, and the multigenerational found family she builds. Twelve books, with more on the way. The flagship series. Start here if you want a long binge-worthy series with deep beach-town atmosphere.

Sweet Tea B&B series (read in order)

Set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. A widow inherits a struggling bed and breakfast and rebuilds her life around it. Six books, completed series. Start here if you want mountain settings, slow-burn romance, and small-town hospitality.



January Cove series (read in order)

Set in the small fictional coastal Georgia town of January Cove. A multi-generational ensemble of family and neighbors with interconnected love stories. Ten books plus two novellas. Start here if you want a binge-able beach romance series with a tight-knit cast.

Whiskey Ridge series (can be read in any order)

Set in the fictional Blue Ridge Mountain town of Whiskey Ridge, Georgia. Each book follows a different couple and stands alone. Five books. Start here if you want mountain settings and don't want to commit to reading in order.


Wisteria Island series (read in order)

Set on a remote retirement island off the South Carolina coast. An ICU nurse, a secretly wealthy island owner, and a chaotic cast of eccentric seniors. Three books, with humor and a found-family heart. Start here if you want a quirky small-town romcom feel.


The Jubilee serie(read in order)

Set in the small Blue Ridge Mountain town of Jubilee, Georgia. Cozy, warm, community-focused storytelling with a small-town magical realism flavor (without being fantasy). Five books. Start here if you want mountain coziness and a strong sense of place.




Waverly Lane series (read in order)

Two books centered on a women's book club and the lives that intersect through it. Start here if you want women's fiction with strong female friendships at the center.




The Lowcountry Ladies Club series (read in order)

Rachel's newest series, set in coastal South Carolina. The Wexley Inn launched the series, with The Silver Bell releasing November 2026. Start here if you want to be in on a series from the very beginning.

Do I have to read Rachel Hanna's books in order?

Each individual series should be read in order for the best experience, since family relationships and storylines build across books. The Whiskey Ridge series is the exception and can be read in any order. Standalones can be read any time.

 

Which Rachel Hanna series should I start with?

Most readers start with the South Carolina Sunsets series (begin with The Beach House). It's Rachel's flagship series, the longest at 12 books and counting, and the one most readers say got them hooked.

 

Are the series connected to each other?

Each series stands on its own, set in its own fictional town with its own cast. There are no major crossover storylines, so you can pick any series and start there without missing context from another.

 

How long are Rachel Hanna's books?

Most are full-length novels in the 50,000 to 95,000 word range, which is roughly 250 to 320 pages in print. Two of the January Cove books are shorter novellas.

 

How many books does Rachel Hanna release each year?

Rachel typically releases 4 to 6 new books per year, plus regular bonus content (bonus scenes, novellas, holiday stories) for her Patreon community.
